The reading section of PTE (Pearson Test of English) is designed to test your reading skills and comprehension of written English. The reading section consists of five types of questions:
- Reading & Writing, Fill in the blanks: Select from a list: In this question type, you will be presented with a passage of text with several gaps, and you need to fill in the missing words by selecting the correct option from a list.
- Multiple-choice, choose multiple answers: In this question type, you will be presented with a passage of text and a question with several answer options. You need to choose all the correct answers to the question based on the information provided in the text.
- Re-order paragraphs: In this question type, you will be presented with a jumbled set of paragraphs from a passage, and you need to rearrange them in the correct order to make sense.
- Reading, Fill in the blanks: In this question type, you will be presented with a passage of text with several gaps, and you need to fill in the missing words using a dropdown menu.
- Multiple-choice, choose single answer: In this question type, you will be presented with a passage of text and a question with four answer options. You need to choose the best answer to the question based on the information provided in the text.
Each question type in the reading section is timed, and the test taker needs to answer all the questions within the given time limit. The reading section usually lasts for 29-30 minutes, depending on the combination of questions in your particular test.
